Summer Challenge: Try Something New

As you adventure during the summer weeks, we hope to fill the blog with your news.  Have your family e-mail or text me with photos and news anytime.  We’d love to know what you’re up to!

The first weekly challenge is to share something new you have tried this summer.  Here’s mine.

This year’s class was quite perplexed that I had never been to Five Guys, a favorite among the group.  So when my sister offered to treat to a Five Guys burger on the way to clean at our Dad’s place the other day, I said yes.  We stopped at the Sharon Welcome Center for a picnic lunch in the rain, and the burger was very delicious indeed.  Thanks for the recommendation, everyone!

So have you tried a new sport, a new hiking trail, a new garden vegetable (Caleb! Ha ha!), or  . . . . this summer.  Tell us about it!

Praise God!

Pastor Josh and Mrs. D. started at their new church!  It is so exciting to watch what God has done.  We prayed all year together that God would lead them, guide them, show them where He wanted them to serve next, and He answered so wonderfully.

The church post said, “Seneca Community Church welcomes our new Associate Pastor Joshua DePasacreta and his wife Michal! We pray God’s richest blessings as you come serve with us! Cake was enjoyed!”

Not a Stick

As part of Global Outdoor Classroom Day, book buddies read Not a Stick by Antoinette Portis and exercised their imaginations. They gathered sticks and created their own pages to add to the book, with the olders helping the youngers with their writing. It’s not a stick. It’s a fishing rod! A tree trunk! A watermelon! A sword! A string for a balloon!

Guatemala Team Chapel

We were blessed to hear the Guatemala team present in chapel this week.  They challenged us to consider traveling the world to share the Gospel with others.  My greatest thrill was seeing several of my former 2nd/3rd graders on the team!  We prayed about being willing to go all those years ago, and God answered our prayers.
