START Poetry: Hyperbole

It is amazing to watch these marvelous START volunteers bring elements of poetry alive in such creative ways.  This week we worked with hyperbole using Ken Nesbitt’s poem, “The Biggest Burp Ever.”  Our funniest moment came when Jimmy read, “The ground began trembling and starting to shake.  That rumble was suddenly more of a roar.  It busted the windows and knocked down the door.”   At the same moment, our upstairs neighbors rattled the floor with a huge rumble during their learning activity!  Our START volunteers go above and beyond to get the point across, that’s for sure!
