Books. Read them in a rocking chair. Read them on the porch roof. Keep them company with a tomato.

***One of my precious students from around 1988 or so, who read more books than you can imagine, posted this on Facebook today.  Justin Kibbe lives on in our classroom even now as I often share tales of his famous pig escapades on his childhood farm.  These days Justin shares his love of words with many California young people as a guest writer at their schools, and he gave permission to share these words and photos with you on our blog.  Here is Justin on the Blessing hill in Monroe, NH, where we launched rockets on a long-ago Littleton Christian School science field trip. 1. What wonderful photos! Is that a young Miss Blessing I see in the background of the last picture? Miss Blessing, your teaching is such an inspiration. Quadblogging?! I always learn something new when I visit your site. Could you email me at AEMS? I need to pick your brain about a few things.

  2. Thank you for your comment, Mrs. Kidane! Thank you especially for your encouraging words. That is a young me in that photo, a bit bedraggled from a very hot Indian summer day that day. I think I was about 25 then, but I’m still a rocket-launching, nature exploring, wild teacher, as are YOU!
