Memories

The day before field day was our Memories Day.  Thinking of the way the Israelites piled up stones so that whenever they went by them they would remember important things about God, we took a day to stack our own stones.  We hope it will help us to remember God’s goodness to us this school year.

Something about a friend I will remember:  “kindness, when he helped me find a snake, how they make me feel good, how we learned to compromise in coming up with solutions”

Something I learned:  “multiplication, how to encourage others more, division, to be more independent and not asking for help first before I try, what atoms are, math power, how to teach other people”

A favorite thing this year:  “friendship, math, sharing good times, new friends, technology, window decorating, our tea party with Mrs. Shedd, morning meetings, . . . .”

My favorite memory moment was hearing how they felt they had changed this year and what God had been doing in their lives.  Precious.

Here we are sharing our photo albums at our final class meeting.  Have I mentioned how much I love these precious students?  I will remember this year always.

  1. Good Summer to Everyone!
What an amazing year of memories you had! I cannot believe all of the neat things you were able to do together with Miss Blessing at the helm! And look at those wonderful photo albums that will help you remember those times for the rest of your life! Summer is passing so quickly! You may have been doing soooo many things this summer that you just might have set some of those fun moments and times with God on the back burner. Pull out those photo albums and do some reminiscing – look up the word if you don’t know what it means 😉 and take some time to thank God again for what He provided and continues to do in your life!!! And another cool thing to do, if you connect with one of your incoming classmates (the new 2nd graders) is to share those pictures and fun times with them to get them excited about the year to come!

I miss you all and will look forward to seeing you soon…in the meantime, enjoy the rest of your summer and give God all the glory!
    Love,
    Miss Hellickson

  2. What a cool idea to share your photo album and your thankfulness with a new classmate when you see one!

Miss Hellickson, I can’t wait to see them again soon too!
