The Character of God in Exodus 34:6-7

Over the past month or so, we have been discussing sharing the Good News with others around us. Part of that is knowing what the Good News is. We have acted out sheepfolds, including a beanbag-throwing shepherd guarding the precious sheep from the wolves and lions, plus actively seeking out the one lost one. We watched an imagined video of the encounter between Jesus and the woman at the well as He talked about the living water. We looked at scripture about watching and being ready for His return. We shared testimonies of His saving grace.

Side by side with this, we also did a study of Exodus 34:6-7 to keep in mind the character of God. Who is this amazing God who provides the way of salvation? He is “a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness, keeping steadfast love for thousands.” Did you know that specific description of God’s character can be found in over twenty places in the Bible? Here are the video links we used in class, in case you want to discuss them again at home. What an awesome God the one true God is!
