Meet our Compassion Child, Anibal!

“Whoever is kind to the needy honors God.”  (Proverbs 14:31)

Each student prayerfully looked through pictures of children in Guatemala on the Compassion website, and our class chose Anibal as our special friend!  He was the child who had been waiting the longest for a sponsor, and I love the compassion in the hearts of these students, who really care about things like that.  So we are pleased to introduce you to Wildred Anibal Manfredy Colop Tayun!

“Anibal lives with his father and his mother.  He is responsible for gathering firewood and cleaning.  His father is employed and his mother maintains the home.  There are three children in the family.  Soccer and bicycling are Anibal’s favorite activities.  In primary school his performance is average and he also regularly attends Vacation Bible School.”

Our letter also said, “Because of your generosity, you can be assured that Anibal will be given a chance to break out of poverty in Jesus’ name.  The hope and love of Christ will be demonstrated to Anibal as he is equipped to mature in all aspects of his life–all in the security of his local church.  Thank you for sharing your heart with a child in need.  May God bless you!”

We will be making Christmas cards for Anibal during our celebration of Jesus’ birthday Wednesday.  Plus we have already sent him two e-letters with pictures!
