To top off our first week back at school, we all gathered together as a community. Miss Holloran got us thinking with an object lesson about how to be a great student. She compared things athletes do to get ready to compete to the things we do as learners to get ready to take off in our studies.

We painted rocks for our rock garden to remind us that RESPONSIBILITY, OPPORTUNITY, CHARACTER, KNOWLEDGE, and SPIRIT are what DES is all about. It was a beautiful sight to see all of our school eating ice cream together on our gorgeous playground. Our Knowledge is ready to take off!
It’s assemblies like this that can help people see why our school really pulls together to help each other. They are not only learning but having fun while doing so. Miss Holloran is the best Principal not many would do the things she does!!
