Our Psalm of Praise

For our chapel, we responded to God’s great gift of His Son by creating our own similes and metaphors of praise. Each 3rd/4th grader helped lead a group of mixed ages in writing one verse of our own psalm of praise, which we then combined into a giant psalm by the whole elementary school!

“Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised, and his greatness is unsearchable.” (Psalm 145:3)

“You have multiplied, O Lord my God,

Your wondrous deeds and your thoughts toward us;

None can compare with you!

I will proclaim and tell of them,

Yet they are more than can be told.” (Psalm 40:5)

Cozy Fireplace Readers

What it looked like three years ago is not quite the same as it looks now, but we all have gotten pretty adept at pandemic adjustments, haven’t we?  The joy in our classroom is palpable.  The thankful hearts of these dear children bless me every single day, as they celebrate all the things we CAN do because WE ARE TOGETHER!

So we thank Mrs. Crane for volunteering to be our first cozy fireplace reader of this winter.  We are fine-tuning our expression and reading fluency by observing a whole collection of excellent oral readers.  We enjoyed The Bog Baby by Jeanne Willis and Gwen Millward so much.
