***A convergent boundary is a place where two plates push together.  This type of collision can create mountains.

 

 

***A divergent boundary is a place where two plates pull apart from one another.  These can cause trenches to form and volcanic activity to increase.

 

***A transform boundary is a place where plates slip past each other in opposite directions.  Earthquakes often form along these boundaries.
