James 5:16b “The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.”

This week our family had a reminder of how tenderly and specifically God answers prayer.  The director of the camp we help with (Maranatha Family Ministries) is a man of faith and prayer.  He stops throughout the day to pray about everything, and being near him and dear Mrs. Edmunds is part of why people love to go to Maranatha.

Our family helps with the local food pantry as distributors of various donations to clients.  Last week there was more milk donated to our area than we could give away before it expired, so my sister brought the leftovers to camp that day and put the gallon jugs in the refrigerator for the ministry.

Well, we didn’t know that the retreat that was there had completely used up all the milk, and Mr. Edmunds had been praying for God to provide milk for the camp.  He prays specifically like that very often, and many times someone will drive in with a check that day, or a check might arrive in the mail perhaps.  God answers again and again.

Our whole family has been praising God for this specific answer though because this was Mr. Edmunds’ response to his great providing God.  He walked into the kitchen to prepare the next meal, opened the refrigerator for something, and exclaimed, “Oh, my!  God didn’t just answer!  He even put the answer RIGHT INTO THE REFRIGERATOR FOR US!”

So dear students, as you follow God today, be listening for what He would have you to do, even if it seems like a small thing.  Talk to Him about everything.  “God is on the move, on the move, hallelujah!  God is on the move in many mighty ways!” (7eventh Time Down)
