Genius Hour Has Begun!

Is your brain exploding with questions waiting to be researched?  Are you a curious learner?  As you learn of God’s wondrous creation, do you come up with more and more things you just have to find out about?  Then you would love Genius Hour!

The thriving second and third graders can’t wait for this hour every week.  The geniuses get to choose whatever they want to learn about and chart their own course of discovery.  Here we are delving into our first topic choices of the year.  Wait and see what marvels will occur among this motivated group.

Brooke has questions about tornadoes.

Autumn wants to know all about making soap and has already mixed up a successful first batch.

Ryleigh has a long-range question in mind.  After last summer’s community theater experience, she wants to know all about Shakespeare and his plays.  Then she plans to put on a play or two of her own as the year goes on, maybe even writing her own script for one of them.

Martha’s essential questions are about snow and how it is formed.  How nice that Snowflake Bentley was from Vermont too!  Faith is researching hot-air balloons.

Jadon is investigating how cars work using a book that includes a model of the different parts of the car such as the accelerator, the gears, and the pistons.
